Sponsors and donors

The library of Erich Pauer and Regine Mathias was augmented and expanded very early on through donations. Extensive book donations came from Japanese institutions and scholars, but also from Japanese Studies scholars in Germany, France and other European countries.
Professors at Keiō, Hōsei, Nihon, Kyūshū, Kyōto and other universities repeatedly sent the library large numbers of books and journals. In this context we would like to thank especially Professors
Hidemura Senzō (Kyūshū University), Hayami Akira (Keiō University) and Tanaka Naoki (Nihon University) for their generous contributions.
In addition, other research institutions and libraries, such as the Nichibunken, as well as economic archives (Keidanren, Sonpō-Japan, Zennōrin, etc.), contributed to an expansion of the library's book and journal holdings.
A label with the name of the respective donor can be found in the individual books.
The library's technical equipment was generously supported in 2014 by funds from the JEC Fund (Japan World Exposition 1970 Commemorative Fund), Osaka.
