The library has an extensive collection of older glass slides and modern black-and-white and colour slides on various topics. These include a donation from the famous folklore photographer, HAGA Hideo, on Japanese festivals and celebrations. Colour slides taken by Erich Pauer and Regine Mathias during research trips to Japan since the late 1960s complement this collection.

Equipment (slide projectors, light panels, slide digitizers, screens, etc.) is available to view these slides.
