Popular Japonisme

Extensive collection of various objects that show the influence of Japonisme and "Japanmania" on everyday European life around the turn of the century (1900). These include historical Japan-related trading cards from Germany and France, such as bonus cards from the Bon Marché department store in Paris or the Liebig series and others; historical letter seals; but also Japonisme ceramics; music documents such as sheet music, CDs, lacquer boxes made of papier-mâché with Japanese motifs (made in Pont-a-Mousson), etc.
