Technology and culture of waterwheels in Japan

Waterwheels were used, especially in rural areas, not only to irrigate rice fields, but also to drive various machines and devices. The exhibition uses pictures and technical drawings to provide insights into the construction and use of such waterwheels. The works are by WAKAMURA Kunio, a science and technology historian at Okayama University.
Number: 57 photos and 13 diagrams (technical drawings)
Size: varies, some mounted on styrofoam approx. 50 x 60 cm, other photos with and without mounts in sizes between 34 x 34 cm to 50 cm x 70 cm.
